Railroad Bill’s serves eggs from Raccoon Forks Farms

Railroad Bill’s is now proudly serving farm fresh eggs from our pals at nearby Raccoon Forks Farms.

The cage-free, pastured hens at Raccoon Forks Farms lay rich, large, delicious brown eggs in Redfield and Runnells.

The eggs are packaged on site at the Farms and delivered directly to Railroad Bill’s and other restaurants and retail outlets throughout central Iowa.

Railroad Bill’s and Raccoon Forks Farms are both Raccoon Forks Microbusinesses, owned and operated by Optimae LifeServices to create jobs for individuals with disabilities and mental illness.

Railroad Bill’s prides itself on making many of our menu items from scratch, our fresh and locally roasted L & N Roast coffee, and now serving fresh farm eggs from Raccoon Forks Farms.

Railroad Bill’s food truck opens season May 1

Railroad Bill's food truck is set for its first outing of the year on Wednesday, May 1, at the Iowa State Capitol Complex for the Mobile Food Vendor Kick-off Jamboree.

The food truck will feature a rotating weekly menu of classics from Railroad Bill's Dining Car and specials unique to the food truck. This week's menu highlights include Railroad Bill's favorite Avocado Toast and Vegan, Vegetarian and Meat Eater Egg Rolls that are special to the truck.

The truck will be at the Capitol again on May 2, where you can find us for lunch most weekdays. On May 3, we'll do lunch at Mediacom offices (3737 Westown Pkwy) in West Des Moines. See you out there!

Now serving Railroad Bill’s L&N Roast coffee

Brick Street Bakery, Plain Talk Books & Coffee and Railroad Bill’s Dining Car are now serving our very own fresh roasted L&N Roast coffee.

Railroad Bill’s L&N Roast is fresh roasted each week by our friends at Raccoon Forks Foods in Ames. The L&N Roast, a medium dark to dark roast, is roasted on Fridays and delivered on Mondays to ensure you are drinking the freshest coffee possible when you visit our stores.

The roast is named after the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. Railroad Bill, our founder, is fond of the L&N line and has familial ties to it. The L&N line was also favorite target of the original Railroad Bill, the legendary train robber.

Stop by one of our stores today and give the L&N Roast a try. Toot toot!
