Storefront rehab project progress

Come see the progress we've made on the storefront rehabilitation project at Raccoon Forks Trading Co. and Railroad Bill's Dining Car! Windows and doors were recently installed on the east and west storefronts, and the scaffolding has been removed. Renaissance Restoration, of Galena, Ill., is doing the work on the building (built c. 1920), which has also included rebuilding the façade with the building's original brick and repairing the architectural detailing. The project was inspired by our enthusiasm for history and preservation, and our belief that the outside of our stores should reflect the quality of our carefully curated antique collection and the classic diner experience to be found inside. Railroad Bill’s re-opens

Railroad Bill's Dining Car, a new breakfast and lunch diner located in the northeast corner of Des Moines' East Village, is set to re-open on Monday, Dec. 11. After completion of an extensive interior remodel, and comprehensive historic exterior remodel nearing completion, Railroad Bill's has re-opened. Temporary store hours will be 8 am to 1 pm on weekdays. An expanded menu and added hours are expected soon. Stay tuned for details!
